In Jalles Machado, are produced the following types of ethanol:
Hydrated: with 5% of water and supplies flexible-fuel vehicles.
Anhydrous: with 0.5% of water and is mixed to gasoline.
Industrial: raw material for manufacturing of hygiene and cleaning products, like hospital alcohol and gel alcohol.
Organic: used in cosmetic’s formulations, mainly perfumes and deodorants.
Ethanol (technical name of ethanol fuel) can be produced from several raw materials, like corn, wheat, beet and sugarcane. Is a source of natural, clean, renewable, sustainable and more democratic energy than fossil fuels. Ethanol generates more than 1 million jobs in Brazil and, when compared to gasoline, reduces in about 90% the emission of greenhouse effect gases, main cause of global warming.
Ethanol is less harmful than gasoline for the environment and the one produced in Brazil is considered the best of the world. For each unit of fossil energy (gasoline, diesel) used in its production, are generated 9.3 units of renewable energy. That relationship, called “energetic balance”, is almost seven times larger than the one obtained by corn ethanol (used in United States) and four times larger than beet or wheat ethanol (produced in Europe). Another advantage is that cane, compared with other crops, needs a small quantity of agricultural defenses. Many plagues are treated without toxic agrochemicals, by biological control, and the erosion is small, because soil is covered most of the time.
Jalles is a reference in the national sugar-ethanol industry combining high quality products, socio-environmental actions and focus in sustainable development.
